Chic Chignons: A Casual Take on a Sophisticated Style

Chic Chignons: A Casual Take on a Sophisticated Style

Stuck in a style rut? It happens to the best of us. Thankfully, we have beautiful ladies like Karolina Wydra and Elle Fanning to inspire us when our hairstyling creativity is lacking. Just look at their gorgeous upstyles seen on the red carpet recently! While these ladies are sporting their chignons with gorgeous gowns, I like the idea of adapting these chic upstyles for daily wear. Here’s how I would do it:

Karolina’s loose, face-framing layers add a casual element to her low chignon, which could be easily replicated for a day at the office or Sunday brunch. If you’re like me╌someone who wears their hair down 90% of the time╌simply pulling your tresses back into a low, loose bun can be the style game-changer you need. For embellishment, I’d add a simple black ribbon.

For a more polished look, get inspired by Elle’s deep side-part chignon, reminiscent of a ballerina bun. I like the idea of wearing this style for casual events to counteract the super polished nature of the look.   Why not sport an elegant chignon with your jeans and tee?

These are just a couple of looks that have me inspired. What is your favorite way to wear a chignon? Tell us in the comments below!
