Five Minute Fix-Up: Rachael's Smoothing Iron Curls

Five Minute Fix-Up: Rachael's Smoothing Iron Curls

Posted by Taylor deDiego on Oct 6th 2014

By now, it’s no secret that you can achieve curls with your smoothing iron, but the trick to doing so is still a bit fuzzy for some of us. How exactly do I move the iron? For this reason, we enlisted the help of Education Brand Manager and resident hairstylist Rachael to give us a quick overview of how to create waves and curls with our smoothing irons. Here’s what Rachael shared:

"Creating curls with your smoothing iron is actually very easy, it just takes some practice! To begin, grab a small section of hair and place your smoothing iron close to the roots. Rotate the iron towards the back of your head to create a flip and then pull it down the length of the hair. That’s it! The result should be a loose curl that is more undone than those created with a round barrel iron."
