Do you have a trick for waking up with manageable hair? Beauty secrets such as sleeping with your hair slightly damp with a few spritz of Awapuhi Wild Ginger® Texturizing Sea Spray® or exclusively using silk pillow cases for smooth, manageable hair circulate around Paul Mitchell headquarters regularly. The newest addition to this round of beauty chat came from our new Content Creator, Jamie, who introduced us to overnight curls. She simply coifs her hair the night before with Sculpting Foam™, a bit of Texturizing Sea Spray and two elastic headbands and wakes up with gorgeous curls. Here’s how she does it:
After showering, apply a handful of Sculpting Foam to your hair, starting at your roots and working through the length. Then, roughly blow-dry your tresses.
When your hair is about 80% dry, add a few spritzes of Texturizing Sea Spray to emphasize your natural texture. Blow-dry the product into your hair until it’s completely dry.
Next, section your hair horizontally into two sections. Pin the top half up.
Place an elastic headband over your hair and begin to tuck 1-2" sections of hair up and around the elastic. Continue all the way around your head╌if you prefer a tight curl, wrap the hair closely around the elastic; if you prefer a loose curl, wrap your hair loosely around the elastic.
Next, release the top section of your hair and place your second headband around your head.
Repeat step #4, tucking 1-2" sections around the elastic until all of your hair is wrapped around the headband.
Time to get some beauty rest! See ya in the morning!
The next morning"
Release the bottom layer of hair from the elastic and then the top.
Use your fingers or a Detangler Comb to loosen the curls. For more volume and separation, apply 1-2 pumps of Awapuhi Wild Ginger Styling Treatment Oil® to your hands, flip your head over and run your fingers through your hair, starting from the ends and working you way up to your roots.
Finish and set your curls with Worked Up®.
That’s it! With minimal work you will get natural-looking curls with an "I woke up like this" appearance" because you really did wake up like this!
