Here at John Paul Mitchell Systems®, we’re proud of our legacy. And part of that legacy is caring for our planet.
We’re no strangers to the power of the sun! In 1983, Paul and JP created a self-sustaining, solar-powered Paul Mitchell® Awapuhi Farm in Hawaii. Did you know that all of the awapuhi used in our products is still harvested there today?
In 1987, Paul and JP pioneered one of the world’s first solar and wind-powered racecars. They even entered it in the World Solar Challenge in Australia!
We’ve taken our commitment one step further, and we’ve even equipped our office in Santa Clarita, CA with over 1,000 solar panels to run those facilities on solar power!
ANIMAL TESTING: NEVER HAVE, NEVER WILL
Our pledge to remain cruelty-free is one of our top priorities in our product research and development process. We made this promise all the way back in 1980. We were the first professional beauty company to publicly stand up against animal testing and it remains a driving force in all that we do.
You’re helping us plant trees where they’re needed the most. We are proud to partner with Reforest’Action, an environmental organization that plants trees worldwide to help fight climate change. We currently have plots open in Peru, Haiti and California where Reforest’Action plants Maya nut trees and Cocoa nut trees to help remove greenhouse gas emissions and battle deforestation.
We’re proud of our efforts to keep things green and would love to hear about yours! Share yours with us on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter with the hashtag #RootedInGreen. To learn more about Reforest’action and to plant or dedicate a tree, click here.
