Chas Guldemond

Snowboarder

Chas Guldemond started his snowboarding career in New Hampshire at the age of nine. Throughout his youth, he worked side jobs to pay for park passes and snowboard equipment. Chas excelled in his sport and competed professionally for the first time in 2006, taking 2nd place in the Slopestyle Competition during the U.S. Open.

Since going pro, he's had seven healthy seasons and won almost every major snowboarding event. He went into the 2014 season as a favorite to represent Slopestyle in its Olympic debut in Sochi, where he finished 15th. Chas was also a top American finalist at the Dew Tour and 3rd place finalist at the U.S. Sprint Grand Prix in Mammoth.

We asked chas to give us the scoop on his career, inspirations, favorite Paul Mitchell® products and more! Here's what he had to say:

Three words that describe me are…

Motivated, funny, energetic.

I got my start in snowboarding when…

I was nine years old. I took one jump in my backyard and I was hooked.

My most significant achievement as an athlete is…

Winning the World Tour in 2009 and the World Championships in 2012.

If I wasn’t a professional athlete, I’d be…

Working in the trades. Probably doing finish carpentry or remodeling.

The person that inspires me the most is…

Rocky Balboa.

When I’m working out, I love to listen to…

Pearl Jam and grunge rock.

My hair is…

Dirty blonde and perfect!

My favorite Paul Mitchell product is…

Lemon Sage Energizing Body Wash™.

The Paul Mitchell product I always have with me when I travel is…

MITCH® Barber’s Classic®.

The best style advice I ever received was…

From my wife, like always.
