What Color Is Your Confidence?
There is a certain type of confidence that comes from feeling great in your own skin. And our family of professional stylists and colorists has the unique opportunity to help hundreds of salon guests feel as beautiful on the inside as they do on the outside with the power of Paul Mitchell® professional hair color. Here we asked some of our Paul Mitchell Insiders to share how they color their guests’ confidence and the best reactions they’ve seen as a result of a hair color transformation.

How do you help your guests color their confidence?
I help my guests color their confidence by pointing out their beauty and showing them how we can further enhance it.
How have you seen professional hair color transform a guest’s outlook?
Once of my guest’s mother admitted she just didn’t feel beautiful anymore. After our consultation, we decided to put some color back into her life. She was completely amazed and I could see the confidence she gained in that service alone. It's not that color transformed her into someone she isn't, it's that the color enhanced the beauty that was already there and she was finally able to see it.
What color is your confidence?
My confidence is pink! In my world, pink means loud, courageous and bold. I’m not afraid to stand out in a crowd. You can be whatever color you want as long as you're confident in it.

How do you help your guests color their confidence?
I help women color their confidence by enhancing their natural beauty through makeup and hairstyling. Although it’s fun to be creative with different makeup looks from time to time, I prefer using makeup in a way that reveals a woman's uniqueness, rather than completely changing the way they look to make them unrecognizable.
How have you seen professional hair color transform a guest’s outlook?
My favorite moments are when clients who have never liked the way they look, or felt masculine with certain types of makeup applications, look in the mirror when I am finished and almost cry because they feel beautiful for the first time. Then later, to see them walk past a mirror, stop to look again and smile at their own reflection is one of the best feelings in the world. Many times we look at ourselves in the mirror and critique our "flaws" so when I see another woman looking happily at her reflection it’s extremely satisfying. Knowing that her everyday insecurities were forgotten, even just for a moment, is rewarding.
What color is your confidence?
Purple!

How do you help your guests color their confidence?
The way I help guests color their confidence is by using what I call my superpower—an ability to look at someone and know exactly what color and cut would look best on them. Everywhere I go I give people mini-makeovers in my head. I love to help people color their confidence by giving them the right color to compliment their skin tone, eye color and even the season!
How have you seen professional hair color transform a guest’s outlook?
The most powerful way I have seen color transform someone's life is with my friend Hillary, who is my absolute favorite client to color. Before I got my license she never liked the way her hair was colored. I remember the first time I finally got to highlight/lowlight and tone her hair. I wouldn't let her see it until I was finished because I knew she would love it. I added some fun red violet and dark brown lowlights). With the help of Paul Mitchell® Professional Hair Color, I was able to even out her splotchy blonde highlights and took away the harsh lines that were previously made. When I was done I spun her around in the chair to look in the mirror and I have never seen anyone look so happy. I've had people cry of happiness in my chair at school, but Hillary's look of pure joy was unforgettable. That was on of the moments I knew I had chosen the correct career path. I've been coloring Hillary's hair for a couple years now and I always use Paul Mitchell products. To this day every time I color her hair she always exudes this amazing contagious confidence.
What color is your confidence?
My confidence color is definitely dark brown! Anything in the dark family really. I've personally had my hair anywhere from jet-black to dark red and I've loved every dark shade I've ever tried. Dark hair makes my hazel eyes pop and quite frankly makes me feel badass.

How do you help your guests color their confidence?
I help people color their confidence by using color to enhance their natural beauty and highlight their best features. When people look their best they have the confidence it takes to go after their goals and take on the day.
How have you seen professional hair color transform a guest’s outlook?
I had the pleasure of working with Valerie Hernandez-Garcia on a charity event earlier this year called Beauty from the Heart, which Paul Mitchell sponsored. We helped young woman who were in a homeless shelter transform their look with haircuts, color and makeup lessons. Many of these young ladies had never had the opportunity to be pampered like this and the experience helped many of them feel more confident about their look.
What color is your confidence?
The color of my confidence is purple. Not only is it my favorite color visually, but I love some of the symbolism behind the color. Purple represents ambition, creativity and peace. Purple is the combination of the fiery energy of red and the calm stability of cool blue.

How do you help your guests color their confidence?
As stylists, it’s our mission to enhance peoples’ lives by coloring their confidence and there is no greater place to do that than at The Color BarSM. By creating a look that brings out a guest's personality, we’re able to help her feel and truly become herself.
How have you seen professional hair color transform a guest’s outlook?
The most powerful way I have seen color transform someone's life is: I had a guest who had suffered a stroke a few years ago and was very much feeling down on herself and life. On her first visit to the salon, we changed her color and it brought youth and excitement back into her. She loved the outcome and said she hadn’t felt this good in years.
What color is your confidence?
Yellow. It’s energizing, fun, grabs your attention and makes you feel happy. All things I personally try to embody.
