In 2023, solar panels on our Global Distribution Center in Santa Clarita, California, generated 393,998 kWh of solar energy, the equivalent of saving 703,953 miles driven by an average gasoline-powered car (enough to circle the globe 28 times).*
We are partnering with a third-party organization to offset carbon from our company operations: The Rimba Raya Biodiversity Project in Central Kalimantan, Indonesia, which conserves 47,237 hectares of habitat for the endangered Bornean orangutan.
In 2022, we reached our goal of planting one million trees with our partner Reforest'Action. Now we are committed to planting an additional one million trees, bringing our total to two million by the end of 2030. To help track our progress, we have joined 1t.org, a global tree planting movement from the World Economic Forum.
With a mission to preserve, restore and create forests around the world, Reforest'Action has been our tree planting partner, reviving the health of forests worldwide. Our Tea Tree brand has planted trees in Haiti, Peru, UK and Germany, and in 2023 we reached our goal of planting a total of one million trees, with a commitment to plant an additional one million trees by 2030.
This community is part of the World Economic Forum's efforts to accelerate nature-based solutions by mobilizing the private sector and fostering partnerships to plant one trillion trees—a massive undertaking that is too large for any one entity alone. Tea Tree is proud to be part of this collective action to help reverse deforestation and reach a scale that will make a significant impact.
