A Perfect Fall Style from Our Editorial Director
Lucie Doughty, stylist to the stars and Editorial Director for Paul Mitchell, is a genius when it comes to creating wearable avant-garde styles. She recently detailed her favorite styles for fall in a collection called "Fall in Noir" for American Salon magazine. Lucie created modern styles that put the focus on texture and extreme details like deep side parts, twists and extra-large chignons.
One of our favorite, work appropriate styles was Lucie’s Central Park lookâ•Œan understated, 60s-inspired style. This minimalistic look is feminine, yet strong, with whimsical details we can’t get enough of. Here’s how to create it:
- Begin by prepping damp hair with Awapuhi Wild Ginger® Texturizing Sea Spray™. Dry the hair with your blow dryer and a large round brush for lift at the scalp.
- Create a center part in the hair.
- Pull the hair to the back.
- Create a French Twist in the back. Secure with pins.
This noir-inspired style will have you ready for fall in no time!
