Get the Look: Sleek-Chic Style at MILLY Fall 2018

Awapuhi Wild Ginger® was backstage at the MILLY Fall 2018 presentation to celebrate equality and the strong, feminine designs of the collection.

Lead Hairstylist Michael Silva drew his inspiration from the runway show's setup. "I was truly inspired by the rainbow installation backdrop, as it was a representation of the right to love and equality. I wanted to create a mixture of hard and soft—structured sides and soft on top—and worked to create a look that embodied the perfect balance of femininity and strength of a '90s power woman," he said.

Read on for Michael's tips and tricks for re-creating the runway looks:

Section and prep the hair from the neck up with HydroMist Blow-Out Spray®, applying from roots to ends.
Prime ends with MirrorSmooth® High Gloss Primer.
Starting with the sides, begin blow drying hair with Neuro® Light, away from the face while creating volume at the crown. Mist Shine Spray™ on sides of hair to achieve that sleek, wet look.
Section hair from the back and straighten with Neuro® Style section by section, while generously applying Finishing Spray™ to lock in a smooth finish.
Pull hair into a low ponytail and secure with an elastic. Finish the look with a mist of INVISIBLEWEAR® Orbit™ Hairspray. To smooth any additional flyaways, use the edge of the Neuro® Unclipped Styling Rod on the top of the crown, away from the face.
To achieve a more lacquered, wet finish, use a fine-tooth comb to apply more Shine Spray™ to the sides.
