Industry peers honor JPMS with Daytime Beauty Award

The stars shined on the red carpet and on stage at the 3rd annual Daytime Beauty Awards (DBA), where John Paul Mitchell Systems® was named Brand of the Year!

Actor and friend Cheryl Hines and Paul Mitchell® Brand Ambassador Cesar DeLeon Ramirez presented the award statuette to CEO Michaeline DeJoria, who accepted on behalf of JPMS™, saying, "Thank you to everyone for the love, creativity and hard work you put into the company. This is all of ours."

JPMS™ was recognized for its recent initiatives including its COVID-19 relief efforts with a $4M salon jumpstart stimulus package and production of a top-grade hand sanitizer; a global sustainability pledge; the launch of the brand's first-ever clean beauty line Paul Mitchell® Clean Beauty; a venture into AI technology with Hair AI™; and the announcement of the brand's first-ever Global Ambassador, style icon Winnie Harlow.

"2020 was very challenging. We put our heads down and focused on the people, the philanthropy and the things we do best. And we did it from the heart," Michaeline said.

"Our team is so amazing because we cherish relationships so much. This was about supporting the people who have always supported us," she added.

The DBAs honors professionals behind the scenes in health & wellness including hair, fitness, skin care and other sectors involved in the science of beauty. The voting board is comprised of past honorees, winners and professionals from the beauty industry including journalists, publicists and beauty experts.

Held at Taglyan Complex in Los Angeles, the awards ceremony featured guests including Regina Hall, Tommy Chong, Jordin Sparks and the great grand-daughter of beauty icon Esteé Lauder, Danielle Lauder, who officiated as the award shows Ambassador. The event also featured a silent auction benefitting the Helen Woodward Animal Center to save sick and injured animals.
